Merrie Melodies
This cartoon has aired in 2 different edited versions on ABC, both of which delete scenes involving Sylvester being mistreated by the housewife, though the different versions do not delete the same scenes:
On the version that aired on ABC in 1988, the entire scene where Sylvester Jr. escapes behind the female lady's back to recruit Sylvester to their potential new home, where Sylvester only ends up beaten by the lady after drinking milk that she had provided for his son who then takes his son in, was deleted, as was the part where after Sylvester knocks on the door, he gets beaten again by the lady.
On the post-1994 version, there were fake fade-outs in three places in this cartoon to remove other scenes of Sylvester being mistreated by the lady: 1) Much like the 1988 version, the scene where Sylvester is hit in the head by the lady after being recruited by his son, whose milk he drinks, was edited. Most of this scene was left in for the 1994 version, but cut here was Sylvester being hit in the head five more times as well as his son being accepted into the lady's house which makes Sylvester angry; 2) A shot of the outside of a house with an undamaged window was freeze-framed over Sylvester being thrown through it, and cut immediately after this was his line to the audience "Have you been eating more Cat Nip, but enjoying it less?"; 3) After the mice throw the lady and Sylvester's son out of the house, the lady yells at Sylvester "And it's all your fault, you stupid feline!" and bonks him on the head.
