outstanding thriller in the long Filmography of Jesús Franco.
11 May 2013 | by (Spain) – See all my reviews

The great actor Fernando Fernan Gomez plays the police inspector "Miguel Mora" a man of integrity that putting his life, faces a candidate for the presidency of the Senate that controls drug trafficking and other illegal businesses under the guise of an honest man "Leprince" (Jean Servais).

The film has an atmosphere achieved thanks to the good work of Godofredo Pacheco photograph and contains some very good musical numbers. The Marbella external locations have a certain charm and an attractive breathe decline only a great artist and Jesus Franco mood would think a 'thriller' in South America and roll in Marbella with very good results.

No doubt this is one of the best films of the prolific filmmaker technical finish Jesus Franco, (which here also reserves a cameo) and which also palpable admiration to Orson Welles J.Franco who work two years later in "Chimes at Midnight" 1965 and "Don Quixote" 1992 by Orson Welles.

It's a feature film in the films of Jess Franco, the most prolific filmmaker born in Spain. The greatest attraction of the film is the contrast between the atmosphere and tone suggestive photographic aesthetic well reflected raises concerns

"Rififi En La Ciudad", along with the magnificent film "Gritos En La Noche" (1962) and "Las Vampiras" (1970), are among the three best films of the extensive filmography of Jesus Franco (almost 200 movies), and it is one of the best "thrillers" Spanish, unjustly forgotten and highly recommended.
