It's the kind of movie I'm sure Annie Girardot is not very proud of.Marie-Paule is a go- getter ,using men to make her way of life. She tells her life to Mister Oscar :how the man she loved died accidentally, leaving her with a child ;how she tried to bring her up conventionally;how she married a wealthy naive manufacturer ;how she seduced her son-in -law ,etc ...Not bad for a humble dressmaker.
Annie Girardot's fans can have a look;the supporting cast is incredibly rich, featuring Marie Bell,Gérard Blain,Blanchette Brunoy,Daniel Gélin,Jane Marken,Raymond Pellegrin,Raymond Bussières ,and even Frenchot (sorry Franchot) Tone ,one of the three Bengal lancers.
