So after the Beach Party held recently, the production decided to venture into the gaming zone as well, with the Tees Maar Khan game being launched on not only mobile and web but the Dth as well! At the launch party held at Novotel Hotel, Mumbai yesterday (13th December), lead pair Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif - along with the director Farah and Utv Indiagames COO, Samir Bangara - inaugurated the game on all the three platforms. While the stars arrived fashionably late, »

new this week in U.S., Canadian, and U.K. theaters: ‘Knight and Day,’ ‘Grown Up,’ ‘Get Him to the Greek,’ ‘When in Rome,’ more

U.S. And Canada/Opening Wide Knight and Day: Tom Cruise does some spy stuff and runs around a lot, while Cameron Diaz does a lot of screaming and runs around like a girl. If you can’t make it to the multiplex, try: • The 39 Steps (1935): Robert Donat and Madeleine Carroll are mismatched maybe-spies in this early Hitchcock classic. • Romancing the Stone (1984): Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas race around intrigue-ridden South American jungles. • Mission: Impossible (1996): If you need Tom Cruise spy-age, why not go to the original? • Kate & Leopold (2001): Director James Mangold has made some good movies. This is not one of them. But it is similarly bad to Knight and Day. Grown Ups: Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, and David Spade are not, in fact, grown up. Marion "Suge" Knight and Kanye West went head-to-head on Friday over lawsuit filed in response to a shooting in Miami in 2005 at a party that left Knight injured. Knight wanted West to answer questions about a celebrity-packed Miami Beach party where an unknown gunman shot Knight in the leg.Suge says he has $200,000 worth of medical bills and according to the Boston Herald, "West hosted the 2005 fete at the posh Shore Club before the MTV Video Music Awards, held that year in Miami."    "I figured I could sit him down, man to man, and get this resolved," Knight told the Associated Press after what appeared to be a frustrating six-hour, closed-door session in New York. "I'm disappointed."  More details on the lawsuit from the Herald.  Knight, nicknamed "Suge" for Sugar Bear, founded Death Row Records and was one of the most powerful music figures of the 1990s, but has recently faced financial woes. »

Watch Now – “Soweto Beach Party” (The Resurgence Of Afrikaans Among South Africa’s Black Population)

21 June 2010 9:07 AM, PDT | ShadowAndAct | See recent ShadowAndAct news »

Afrikaans is an offshoot of Dutch introduced into South Africa by the early white Dutch settlers, known collectively today as Afrikaners. Afrikaans was spoken by those whites who developed the Apartheid policy which discriminated against South Africa’s indigenous blacks. Soweto – a township that’s historically been overwhelmingly Black, was the site of a few watershed events in the struggle against Apartheid – notably the Soweto Uprising of 1976; mass protests erupted over the then Apartheid government’s policy to enforce education in Afrikaans (the language of the oppressors).

The below documentary from Al Jazeera’s Witness series, titled Soweto Beach Party, asks, in short: Are black South Africans willing to accept and acclimate themselves to music in the language of their former oppressors…?

New Releases June 6 Through 12, 2010

7 June 2010 5:19 PM, PDT | GameRant | See recent GameRant news »

It’s already the second week of June.  More importantly, it’s the week before E3 2010 kicks off.  Keeping that in mind, it should  come as no surprise that this week’s new releases are fairly solid, but not particularly exciting.

The big question mark of the week hovers over EA’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11.  We’re living in the post-scandel world now, people.  Will virtual golfers still flock to the stores?  Or will EA ultimately join the legion of sponsors who have set this Tiger free?

While you ponder that, take a look through the new releases for June 6 through 12, 2010, convieniently broken out by platform and date.

Suge Knight lawsuit takes aim at Kanye West

Miami (AP) — A rap music smackdown looms in a federal courtroom between oft-troubled impresario Marion "Suge" Knight and controversial star Kanye West over a shooting at a star-studded Miami Beach party. Knight, founder of Death Row Records and promoter of some of rap's biggest acts, was shot in the right leg in August 2005 by a still-unknown assailant at the ultra-trendy Shore Club. West was hosting the party before the MTV Video Music Awards held that year in Miami. No one has ever been arrested, and like many other shootings in the rap world, police found few witnesses although the »

Sebastian Ingrosso And Steve Angello Close Out Wmc 2010 With Beatport Party

29 March 2010 11:15 AM, PDT | MTV Newsroom | See recent MTV Newsroom news »

By Akshay Bhansali

Following a stellar set by 22-year-old Dutch Wmc phenom Afrojack, Swedish House Mafia members Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso unofficially closed out Wmc 2010 at the Beatport Beach Party (presented by Beatport, Pioneer and Armani Exchange) at the Gansevoort South in Miami on Sunday (March 28). Sure, other parties lingered on throughout the night, but none that were as explosive.

Swedish House Mafia performed for close to 100,000 people at Ultra Music Festival on Saturday (March 27), but at the Gansevoort — which was free to the public and a much smaller production — it seemed that the gents were really able to let things loose and get grimey. Ingrosso and Angello played many of the hits from the Swedish Mafia's combined catalog, including "Leave the World Behind" and a house mix of the Eurythmics' classic "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)." Then there was "Sweet Disposition," a remix of a Temper Trap »

Best of Gossip Girl Quotes: "The Lady Vanished"

TV Fanatic needs your help! Our staff diligently compiles Gossip Girl quotes from every episode, but with so much to cover regarding last night's "The Lady Vanished" and next week's "The Sixteen Year Old Virgin," there are plenty of quotes we still need to add!

Here's what we've got so far ...

Serena: Our drinks would be nice, maybe some bread for the table.

Blair: You haven't eaten bread since middle school. | permalink Rufus: [to Jenny] I look at you and I don't see my daughter anymore. | permalink Dan: What could be friendlier than taking a mock photo? | permalink Blair: [to Serena] You and I both know why you did this and »

Gossip Girl Review: "The Lady Vanished"

16 March 2010 6:20 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Last night's Gossip Girl didn't have many shocking moments, but there were plenty of racy scenes, quality character moments and major story lines beginning to slowly build up.

While much of its buzz stems from its "Omg" factor, Gossip Girl has become, at its heart, a character-driven show, and "The Lady Vanished" proved why it's one of our favorites.

Who would have thought Chair would be the most adult couple on the show, including the actual adults? Season One, this is not ... and we're loving every second of them.

Chuck and Blair were the focal point of the episode, with a scandalous Jenny side plot and Dan and Vanessa doing their crazy thing somewhere else. But first ... Serenate.

The episode begins with Serena, Nate, whipped cream and strawberries, and no pants. Wow. Not one to be outdone, Blair moans loudly from upstairs to get their attention.

All in the first five minutes! »

TCM To Show Tina Louise Tribute On Sunday March 14

12 March 2010 6:45 AM, PST | | See recent CinemaRetro news »

By Tom Lisanti

On Sunday night March 14, TCM is showing a Tina Louise tribute. It is surprising but wonderful that TCM is recognizing the extremely talented redhead who had a very interesting and prolific movie career.  First up at 8Pm is Tina in her Golden Globe award winning movie debut as sexy farm nymph Griselda in God's Little Acre (1958) from the novel by Erskine Caldwell.  This is followed by the Beach Party knockoff For Those Who Think Young (1964) starring James Darren and Pamela Tiffin standing in for Frankie and Annette with Tina as a sexy singing stripper who moonlights as a math tutor. Also starring is Bob Denver before he and Tina got stranded on Gilligan's Island.

When I asked Pamela Tiffin about Tina, she exclaimed (in my book Fantasy Femmes of Sixties Cinema), “Tina Louise was one of the most beautiful females I’ve ever seen in my life. »

Stars in Rewind: Ryan Gosling and Justin Timberlake as R&B Singing Lumberjacks

22 February 2010 10:32 AM, PST | Cinematical | See recent Cinematical news »

If the thought of Oscar-nominated actor Ryan Gosling and multi-hyphenate crooner Justin Timberlake teaming up to sing and dance to old school R&B makes your fan girl heart tingle, I'll do you two better... because they've already done it! And the song is none other than the Boyz II Men classic, "Motownphilly!" Trust me, your week's not going to get any better than this.

You see, back in the early '90s, young Gosling and Timberlake were two of the new kids on Disney's "Mickey Mouse Club." (Also in their class: Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears.) And the "Mickey Mouse Club," or "Mmc" as it was also called, employed its clubhouse of young performers in activities like the performing of skits, the reading of fan mail, and, best of all, the performance of song-and-dance numbers set to covers of contemporary pop tunes.

Like many kids back then, I rushed »

Clock Winds Down on Rachel Uchitel's Tiger Woods Scandal Fame

1 January 2010 11:42 AM, PST | | See recent news »

Rachel Uchitel’s 15 minutes of fame from the Tiger Woods sex scandal appears to be winding down. The New York party girl who had an alleged five-month fling with the top golfer, has been the subject of constant rumors that she and Tiger are still an item – all of which are apparently untrue. Far from being by Tiger’s side, holding hands with him at a posh Palm Beach party, or hooking up with him on his yacht, as tabloids have reported, Uchitel has neither seen nor heard from him since the scandal broke, according to her attorney Gloria Allred. »
