Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Would probably be PG-13-Violent and Disturbing Behavior, and Brief Language

A woman is somewhat sexually obsessed with a man she hires to play piano for her. Nothing happens between the two.

Violence & Gore

An opening scene shows a woman (Bette Davis) intentionally hitting another woman (Joan Crawford against gates). No faces shown. No blood or bodies. Crawford later says she hit Davis and missed and hit the gates crippling herself.

A woman is increasingly psychotic throughout the film. She beats a woman and ties her up for a long time

A woman kills another by striking her in the neck with a hammer.

No blood throughout the entire movie, though implied violence is high.

One woman serves another a dead bird for lunch, then later, a dead rat for dinner.

Profanity

A woman mouths bitch and says damn and crap. Hell is used frequently. Nothing serious.

A main character is an alcoholic and drinks vast amounts of liquor at once. References to being drunk.

The film is altogether very intense and might be disturbing. The presence of an adult is better.
