Chicago American, Thursday, March 29, 1962:

Leave it to Marlon Brnado to be the only male in show business to have a female stand-in! I kid you not. On the set of "The Ugly American," an attractive girl named Marie Squires, who is married to a make-up man, Phil Rhoades, stands up for the lighting and camera angles for the nonconformist Brando.

Another pretty feminine influenece on the set is Lisa Lu, Chinese actress who formerly taught language for the United States army training program. She's teaching Marlon her native tongue, not for use in the move, but for a contemplated trip to the orent.
