Orson Welles, who portrays a director directing a Biblical epic in this film's 'La Ricotta' story, ironically had earlier directed himself in his own scenes in an actual Biblical epic, David and Goliath. Welles, who portrays a king in the Biblical epic David and Goliath, also narrates another Biblical epic about the King of kings, King of Kings. Welles even narrates a portion of the Biblical work The New Media Bible: Book of Genesis as well.
