Whenever a film franchise goes through several remakes, sequels, and reboots, there’s always the question of which one is the best. King Kong is one such franchise that has returned to the big screen many times over the last 84 years in different variations and versions. The King Kong franchise revolves around its primary attraction, the giant gorilla known as Kong. King Kong has had his fair share of screen-time over the decades. Kong was introduced to the world in 1933's King Kong, followed by sequels, remakes, and even a monstrous crossover event in 1962, King Kong Vs. Godzilla. This month saw the release of Kong: Skull Island, featuring not only the world's favorite Monkey, but also an ecosystem of monsters and a large cast of humans who don't want to be eaten, smashed, or ripped limb from limb. So, where does John Wick: Chapter 3 go from here? I say a crossover. Hear me out. Who doesn’t love a good heavyweight bout between familiar characters? Freddy Vs. Jason! King Kong Vs. Godzilla! John Wick versus – I don’t know yet! That’s the question I’m here to pose. What franchise could Wick and his nameless pup wander into, and then set ablaze? »

Initial looks at Kong: Skull Island are sounding pretty good. What’s more is that the King Kong reboot will eventually connect to the rebooted Godzilla franchise, which will continue with Godzilla: King of Monsters in 2019, and culminate with King Kong vs. Godzilla in 2020. So we’ll have plenty of huge monsters terrorize themselves and other people for the rest of this decade. Isn’t that nice? As Kong: Skull Island is getting closer to its release reporter Kellvin Chavez of Splash Report has a little extra information for fans about the monster flick.
