A family of burglars and safecrackers plan a heist at a jewelry store. When one of the family--who is the safecracking expert--gets arrested and jailed, they hatch a plan to break him out so he can take part in the robbery.
Another one of those run of the mill British b-pictures from poverty row studio Butcher's. In this one a gang of crooks lead by Eddie Wallis (Peter Reynolds) and his mother (Avice Landone) plan to break an accomplice out of prison so that he can take part in a jewel heist. It's all pretty tedious with little action and no thrills and its main source of interest is the appearance of a young Carol White ("Cathy Come Home") as the girlfriend of the escaped convict. It's produced by Butcher's who specialised in quota quickies like this. The Cinematograph Act of 1927 was passed by parliament to ensure that a certain number of home grown pictures were made by this country each year. However, money was always a problem, and that's how these pictures surfaced and instead of doing our film industry any good they gave it a bad name!
