The romantic "Sissi" trilogy condensed into one film. Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria falls in love with young princess Elisabeth.
I remember this film as a young person. At that time it seemed to come on TV pretty often. My mother loved it and would watch it every time it came on. It always made me cry and I remember it as being wonderful. In fact, I have not seen it in years but when I think of it, it's always "the most beautiful love story I ever saw". It's sad that the film no longer exists as it would be nice to see it again. From what I understand it actually was not a single film but several films put together, or some such. Maybe some day it will be found in some German film vault and restored. If anyone every hears of it being available, I would love to be notified or if it every comes to TV, it would be great to see it.
