Experiment in Terror (1962) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex: None.

Nudity: No actual nudity except for nude manikins that the camera seems to linger on for a very long time.

A man kidnaps a teenage girl and instructs her to take off her clothes, when she refuses he threatens to do it for her, so she does so herself, she only removes her skirt and sweater and remains in a bra and slip. Then later he tries to take advantage of her but she cries and begs and he leaves her alone.

A murder victim is hung upside down on the ceiling, it is implied that she is nude, but nothing is shown on-screen.

Some women in bras.

Sexually suggestive and pornographic art on the walls of the "nightclub".

"Showgirls" (prostitutes?) swinging on swings at the "nightclub" are filmed from underneath in strange angles, there are a few moments and scenes in this film where the director/cameramen seem to forget they are making a legitimate drama and suspense film. The suspense is lost in these strange moments of perversion.

Nothing graphic.

There is no blood and gore. Most of the film revolves around threats of rape and violence (murder).

A couple of scenes where a woman and teenage girl almost get hit by a car.

Most of the film has a suspenseful feeling to it - except for a few unnecessarily long and improper scenes - it can be a little frightening and would not be recommended for children in the first place. This was marketed to a mature audience in 1962 and is mature or "adult" film noir, where there is more drama than action.
