Everyone loves a Cinderella story and one that has a ghastly family, a spunky heroine, and one Prince Charming who can be a bit of a dope some of the time! The film, which introduced the lovely Sadhana to the screen, is one of the most fun and charming romances of the 60s. Love in Simla was one of the biggest hits of 1960 and deservedly so, the sparkling repartee and gorgeous cinematography makes it a gem to enjoy even now.

Unlike most Cinderellas who are the docile type, Sadhana plays the plucky and feisty heroine Sonia. Actor-filmmaker Joy Mukherjee, who died Friday, was cremated here Saturday.The last rites were performed at 11.30 a.m. at the Versova crematorium close to his residence in the presence of Raza Murad, Tabassum and family members, a family member said.His niece Kajol, music composer Bappi Lahiri and veteran actor Tabassum were present at his residence before the body was taken to the crematorium.The actor, who stepped into filmdom in 1960 with Love In Simla, died at the Lilavati Hospital here Friday morning. Yesteryears' actor Joy Mukhejee, who was ailing at Mumbai's Lilavati hospital, breathed his last today at 1 pm Ist. He was 73 years old and was suffering from respiratory problems. Joy Mukherjee made his acting debut in 1960 with Love In Simla. Post that he became popular with films like Shagird, Love In Tokyo, Bahu Beti, Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon, Ek Musafir Ek Hasina, Puraskar, and Hum Hindustani. Bollywood veteran Joy Mukherjee, who acted in films like Love in Simla, died at Lilavati Hospital here Friday, his spokesman said. Veteran actor and director Joy Mukherjee has been admitted to Lilavati hospital in critical condition. He is under the treatment of Dr Prabhu Desai & Dr Barve and has been put on ventilator. Apparently he has not been well for some time and was admitted today at 10:30.

Born on 24th Feb 1939, his first film as hero was Love in Shimla. Mumbai, March 5: Yesteryears Bollywood star Joy Mukherjee was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital here in a critical condition Monday and has been put on ventilator, his spokesperson said.

"He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital at around 10:30 a.m. He has not been keeping well for quite some time," the 73-year-old's spokesperson, R.R.Pathak, said.
