Dull quote quickie whose ambitions stretch only as far as routine flatness. The movie's limits in terms of scope wouldn't matter a bit if there was some life in the damn thing (the ingenuity given limited resources is usually what's so much fun about these films), but the wooden cast interact with as much energy as a bunch of mannequins in a shop window, while the dialogue is mind-numblingly ordinary. There are a few laughs to be had in the lavish lifestyle of villain R.K. Maroon: his diamond smuggling trade has resulted in a lovely motorboat moored on a backroad river, a tiny club with blokish singers, and a few chaste kisses from undercover hostess Maureen Connell.
