Hervé Bazin (real name: Jean-Pierre Hervé-Bazin) (1911 - 1996) was a French writer, whose best-known novels covered teenage rebellion and dysfunctional families. His first novel was 'Vipere au poing' ('Viper in the fist') in 1948 (this is named as 'A Snake in his Fist' in the sub-titles).
