The Contract
The Saint is the victim of an attempted hit-and-run, the driver being a man called Farnberg. Some years earlier he was an airman at an American air-base and he was involved in a robbery there. He was sent to prison but the spoils of the robbery were never found. Now he is out of jail and looking for the money.The Saint is saved by a man called Dunstan, who was the chief security guard at the base when the robbery happened and he and the Saint team up to get to the loot before Farnberg.

The Set-Up
The Saint interrupts an armed robbery and is told by Chief Inspector Teal that the gang in question are responsible for similar crimes and are building up to a last big job. A hit is put out on the Saint to prevent any further attempts on his part to foil the gang, and, as he entertains a young lady in his apartment, a man with a telescopic rifle takes aim at him from a house opposite.

The Rhine Maiden
In Germany the Saint saves a young girl, Julia, from what appears to be an accident but is an attempt on her life by Charles Voyson, a man who swindled her father out of £250,000 and is planning to change his identity. Voyson feigns illness and is taken to a clinic run by an accomplice, Dr. Schreiber, who informs Julia and the Saint that Voyson has just died. In fact he is very much alive and about to jump onto a train. The Saint and Julia follow him but she is captured by Voyson and held hostage in his compartment. The Saint climbs along the carriages to save her.

The Saint investigates the murder of Professor Oakridge, head scientist at a secret research station in the Scottish highlands.

The Sign of the Claw
The Saint is in Malaya, working for the British government to locate a local terrorist gang who have killed a friend of his. He stays at a farm owned by Don Morland and his daughter Jean and finds that they are being threatened to leave by a neighbour called Valmon. When the Morlands refuse the farm is attacked and Jean is abducted. The Saint must rescue her and unmask the leader of the terrorists who goes by the Sign of the Claw.

The Golden Frog
In South America the Saint meets two swindlers, Alice Nestor and her father. They show him a golden statue of a frog, claiming it is one of many such icons of the sacred frogs of the Incas and request that the Saint backs their expedition to find others. The Saint pretends to co-operate but plants some fake gold of his own to turn the tables on the swindlers, only to discover that they are also gun-runners for local revolutionaries.

The Frightened Inn-Keeper
The Saint is summoned to a remote inn in Cornwall by Julia Jeffroll, although, when he arrives, it is clear that her father, the inn-keeper, though telling him that there is nothing wrong, is actually very scared, especially of three male guests at his inn. Julia tells the Saint that she hears strange noises at night and has overheard the men boast about coming into money very soon. Then the Saint discovers that there is a tunnel being built in the cellar with an underground rail-track. He decides to investigate.

Sibao
On the island of Haiti, noted for voodoo, the Saint meets the beautiful Sibao, a mystical young woman, and her fiance, Theron Netlord, a young Englishman who is entranced by voodoo and is marrying Sibao purely to learn its secrets and gain power for himself. The Saint accepts an invitation to dinner with Netlord and finds himself in danger.

The Crime of the Century
Betty Tregarth is forced to go with a group of men led by Bernhard Raxel. Earlier Chief Inspector Teal had told the Saint that he suspects Raxel of planning the 'crime of the century', having killed an undercover officer planted by Teal for more details. Betty works at a research plant perfecting nerve gas and Raxel has kidnapped her brother as security for her cooperation. He wants to employ nerve gas in a robbery to steal the plates and paper from the Bank of England's printing house. Teal intercepts one of the safe-crackers Raxel intends to use in the raid and ...

The Happy Suicide
Television host Ziggy Zaglan has a jovial public image but is really a very unpleasant man who owes his success to the clever writing skills of his adopted brother, Paul. Paul is visited by James McCleary, a man who claims that Ziggy was responsible for his sister's death by drowning, and the next morning Paul is found dead by hanging. The assumption is that he killed himself but the Saint is not convinced and sets out to find the murderer.

The Chequered Flag
Oscar Newley has perfected a new fuel injection system for his racing car and approaches the Saint for financial backing. However the car breaks down during a race and he believes that it has been sabotaged by Ellington, a rival owner-driver.Suspicions are compounded when Oscar is nearly killed in a fire at his work-shop and the car is again sabotaged. The chief culprit would seem to be Oscar's driver Alec but then he is murdered . The Saint must race to find the perpetrator in every sense.

The Abductors
Shortly after meeting the Saint in a Paris night club and informing him that he is being followed, Brian Quell is kidnapped by a gang led by a man called Jones in an attempt to lure Brian's brother, a professor, to work for foreign agents. Brian is killed and Jones plans to abduct the professor at the funeral. The Saint is under suspicion for the murder and, in escaping from the police, hides out with a young girl called Madeline, who has won a holiday to Paris as a prize. Steve Nelson is an up-and-coming young boxer with a promising career but his girl-friend Connie approaches the Saint because she is fearful of his next opponent, a mysterious Australian known as the Masked Angel, who has actually killed a man in a fight, although there was no evidence of foul play. The Saint is suspicious of the Angel's manager, Doc Spengler, the more so after a man who has offered to spy on Spengler is found dead and the Saint is shot at. Neither Inspector Teal nor the Saint are impressed by Peter Corrio, a smug private detective who boasts to them that his security system for the fabulous Oppenheim emerald is fool-proof. Nicknamed 'the Man who could not die' international adventurer Miles Hallin goes into partnership with Nigel Perry, whose father has recently died. Following the death of a man suspected of blackmailing Hallin, the Saint believes that Hallin killed Nigel's father and that Nigel himself could be in danger. Hallin and Nigel set out for a pot-holing holiday in Wales with the Saint in pursuit, ultimately confronting Hallin and putting his immortality to the test.

The crooked Abdul Graner has stolen a priceless diamond from the Louvre and is now awaiting an expert to come to his villa in the Canary Islands to cut the diamond for him. Unbeknown to Graner this is the Saint, working for the police. On the French Riviera the Saints rescues Dona Luisa Arroya and her young companion Consuela from two robbers. Dona Luisa and Gilberto, her brother-in-law, tell the Saint that they are part of a once influential family, exiled from the island of Santa Cruz, who have come to sell Dona Luisa's jewelry to raise money for a return to power - hence the robbery. The Old Treasure Story
In a pub in Cornwall, the Saint meets three men, each of whom owns a third of a map that allegedly shows the whereabouts of sunken treasure in the West Indies. He joins their party to discover whether the treasure is a myth or a reality.
