“‘The Devil Wears Prada’ wasn’t an easy strut down the catwalk for Hollywood, as Variety learned in an oral history with the film’s stars and executives. As 2016 winds down, the entertainment community has lost yet another beloved icon. Zsa Zsa Gabor, who became more famous for her "darling" catch phrase and her multiple marriages than her actual film career, passed away at the age of 99. Early reports reveal that the celebrity suffered from an apparent heart attack, and was rushed to an unspecified hospital where she was pronounced dead. Zsa Zsa Gabor's death comes just two months before she would have celebrated her 100th birthday.

TMZ was the first to report on the actress' death, which comes after suffering from a number of ailments over the past few years. Her husband Frederic Prinz Von Anhalt would reportedly throw annual birthday parties for his wife over the past few years, but his wife was so sick during these parties that visitors weren't even allowed in her bedroom to see her. Williams was persuaded to come to Hollywood and try his hand at acting, and earned his big break on the ABC private detective show “Bourbon Street Beat.” He played Ken Madison, a character he later recycled for another detective show, “Surfside 6.”

In 1966, Williams signed a deal with 20th Century Fox to star in “The Green Hornet” as both the titular masked crusader and his newspaper editor alter ego, Britt Reid. He was ably supported by his martial arts master sidekick »

‘Charlie’s Angels’ Again? How Reboots of Reboots Became the New Normal

7 August 2016 2:40 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Listen, I’ve got an inspired idea for a summer movie: an actress-led remake of “Ghostbusters.” Okay, I know, they tried that earlier this summer, and really, it was a great idea. But let’s be honest: It didn’t entirely work out. The negative fanboy buzz hurt it, and whatever you thought of the finished product, it wasn’t as funny as the original. It could have been better. So what I’m saying is, let’s do it better. By the summer of 2018, the “Ghostbusters” remake will be an ancient memory. That will make it the perfect timing for the relaunched version, which can be rowdier and raunchier and wilder, maybe skewering a little younger and hipper, with a touch of that “Suicide Squad” edge. I see Amy Schumer in the Bill Murray role, and we could team her up with Nicole Byer and — why not? — Margot Robbie. »
