The characters experience a fairly normal Earth like day-night cycle. Approximately 12 hours of daylight and 12 of darkness. Nights and days on the moon last 14+ DAYS each.

The Moon 'cave men' have thick beards, the two Earth men don't even show 5 O'clock shadow, despite being on the Moon for days without shaving.

Revealing mistakes 

Some of the archive monster footage edited from an unidentified film, was shot in an anamorphic wide screen process, and is here seen squeezed to fit the narrower 1.85:1 non-anamorphic ratio.
