She is beautiful, yes! She is camp, of course! That's part of the charm of this -and her movies, from "La Violetera" until the very last one. This film is what intended to be: entertainment with lots of old songs, like La petite tokinoise, who used to sing Josephine Baker. Maybe I saw another version, or the soundtrack is wrong, but I would like to make note that, in this movie, Montiel never sings "Madreselva" (she does in an album appropriately titled "El Tango") neither she sings "Under the roof of Paris" since she did that in "La Violetera" (in Spanish for the Spanish version, french in the french version). This is not important but accurate. Enjoy!!
