Trivia

With the exception of the Beebe family characters, most of the people in the film are played by real-life residents of the town of Chincoteague, Virginia. The premiere of the film was held at the Island Theater (now the Roxy Theater) in Chincoteague. As part of the celebration, the real Misty placed her hoof prints in cement, and author Marguerite Henry signed her name next to the hoof prints, on the sidewalk outside the theater. See more »

Very Sweet
31 January 2004 | by (Kentucky) – See all my reviews

This is very sweet film! As a child I fell in love the novel about "Misty". I was fortunate to traveling to Virginia and witness the Pony Penning event. The horses were awesome and the film was actually shot on location and seemed very authentic! I viewed the film while on vacation and happened to run across it last night on television. I think I liked it even better this time around!
