King Saul of Israel is jealous of the fame and adoration of David, who long ago slew Goliath and brought victory to Saul's armies. Now Saul, egged on by his Edomite counselor Doeg, attempts to have David killed. Saul's son, and David's best friend, Jonathan, conspires to help David, who is reluctant to fight back against his own people the Israelites. Written by Jim Beaver <jumblejim@prodigy.net>
I for one am tired of people making these boring inaccurate biblical epics. This like most movies about David messes up the story. I've yet to see one David movie that gets the story right. Some would argue that you have to change some things to make it an entertaining movie, however if this is the case why isn't this movie entertaining? I think that the Bible's story of David is very interesting, but no movies get it right. This movie is at the bottom of the barrel. The story is twisted around and the movie is boring. The director seemed more concerned with trying to showcase big battle scenes (which are very unimpressive) than telling a great story. If you want to see a decent biblical epic than stay away from this. If you are trying to cure insomnia, this is the best sleeping pill I know of.
