User Reviews

Fairly true to the Word of God, wonderfully acted, great casting.

Great casting using Jeff Chandler as David and great casting overall. One of Chandler's last movies as he passed away at the young age of 42 the following year due to blood poisoning after surgery. Screen play, acting, directing all very good which makes for a very good movie.

Great entertainment but more important, fairly true depiction of Biblical record of David's life before he was made King of Israel.

Made in 1960 in the good old days of Hollywood when Biblical history, which it is and not fairly tales, was given the respect it deserves.

Highly recommended for family and church viewing. Parents and pastors alike can feel confident that though Hollywood, respect for the integrity and dignity of scripture is maintained throughout.
