Vaughn Keeps Mum About Heche

2 November 2001 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Vince Vaughn is showing signs of concern about the mental stability of his friend Anne Heche. The pair became good friends when they starred in Gus Van Sant's remake of the Hitchcock classic Psycho, and Heche's recent antics, including revelations of her mental illness and a tell-all book, have Swingers star Vaughn concerned. He says, "I really love Anne. I feel a lot of affection for Anne and I respect her very much as an actor. It's not my place to put any judgement on what someone goes through at a place in their life." He continues, "I think a lot of times, to me, what's disconcerting is when people go through something vulnerable, there seems to be a glee in that. And I just have a whole other outlook. This is a decent person, someone who's been through a lot, who's tried really hard to accomplish something. So my prayers and my wishes are always for her to be happy and safe... in whatever it is she's looking for." »

Psycho Star's Wife On Board Terror Plane

13 September 2001 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

The widow of Psycho star Anthony Perkins was on board one of the planes which hit the World Trade Center yesterday. Actress and photographer Berry Berenson was married to the gaunt actor until his death from an Aids-related illness in 1992. She appeared in a number of films, including the 1982 version of Cat People, and was the sister of actress Marisa Berenson. Berenson, who married Perkins in 1973, was on board Flight 11 returning to her Hollywood Hills home after a holiday on Cape Cod. She also appeared in the 1978 film Remember My Name, which starred her husband, as well as the 1980 TV mini-series Scruples. Spokeswoman Susan Patricola says, "She was one of the loveliest, greatest people on the Earth, full of life." »
