Later, during the war, as his foster parents are interned at a camp for Japanese Americans, Gabaldon's ability to speak Japanese helps him become a lone-operating Marine hero. Goofs

In all of Vic Damone's scenes as Corporal Pete Lewis, he is seen wearing a very shiny gold bracelet, including in combat scenes. In reality, no person in combat would have ever been allowed to wear a shiny gold bracelet, nor would they have wanted to, out of concern for the bright glint given off which might betray their position. Damone should have been directed to remove the bracelet during filming. See more »

Quotes

Gen. Matsui: The was not a pretty sight for me to see.
Guy Gabaldon: Neither was Pearl Harbor.

User Reviews

It's been so long since I've seen it.
7 May 2003 | by (Boston) – See all my reviews

Huge shame that it is not available on VHS or DVD. I saw it many years ago on TV and enjoyed it immensely. The acting was top notch. I've always liked David Janssen and Patricia Owens (both of whom are dead now, as well as Jeffrey Hunter, who died very tragically). Why does Hollywood refuse to issue certain old movies on media?
