Vera Miles had her head shaved for her role in this film, which resulted in having to wear a wig for her role in Psycho (1960). (In fact, except for Barbara Bel Geddes, who wore a wig, all of the actresses playing the title characters had their heads shaved.)

When Germany invaded Yugoslavia in 1941, the Yugoslavians formed resistance movements. One such movement, the Partisan Army, was led by post-war dictator Josef Tito, and had 70,000 fighters who used guerrilla warfare tactics to fight the Nazis from their camps in the Yugoslavian mountains.
