Dave Thorne is hired by Nancy Anders to find her missing husband. She is the former Nancy Clayborne of New York and her family is very wealthy. Her grandmother is a domineering woman who disapproved of her marrying Frank Anders so the two were forced to elope. Mrs. Clayborne believes that Anders is just a grifter out for her money but Nancy doesn't believe this. Arnie Helman and Stan Ritchie, two dangerous men also happen to be looking for Anders and they're not afraid to rough up anybody who gets in their way. Thorne will have to figure out who everybody is and what their part in this mystery is in order to solve it.
