• Continuity: Barney's middle name is, for the most part, said to start with a P. But in some episodes his middle name is said to be Oliver and sometimes Milton.
  
  
• Continuity: In the first couple of seasons there is window to the left of the entrance (as seen from the street outside) but inside the Sheriff's office there is no window. In later seasons this error was corrected.
  
  
• Miscellaneous: It's been established that the Mayor's Office is above the courthouse and jail. However there is no indication either inside or outside the courthouse that there is any access to the Mayor's office from the street level or inside the jail. At one point early in the series there was a door to the left of the jail cells which was later removed that could have been an access to the upstairs offices but since no one was ever seen using it and it was later removed from the set, there's no way of knowing.
  
  

• Continuity: In early seasons there was a door leading to somewhere to the left of the jail cells. No one is ever seen using that door but in later years the door mysteriously disappears.
  
  
• Continuity: On some early episodes of The Andy Griffith Show, there is a door to the left of the jail cells. After a number of episodes, it mysteriously disappears never to be seen again.
  
  
• Continuity: In Andy's house there is a short window to the left of the fireplace and in some episodes there is either a long window or a glass door.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: In the episode Howard And Millie, when the crew exits the train and is talking to Millie's parents, the "tree and field" background behind them is obviously just a backdrop (identifiable by wrinkles and shadows cast on it.)
  
  
• Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): In "Goober Makes History", Goober says that Hawaii was the 49th state and Alaska the 50th. It's actually the other way around.
