Storyline

Father Conroy (Crosby) has a parish which serves the acting and performance community. When one of his parishoners gets too sick to work, his daughter Holly (Reynolds) finds a job working for a dance club of questionable character, which is run by Tony Vincent (Wagner). Vincent never made the big time, and Father Conroy tries to look after Holly. There are many musical numbers, and the conclusion is a televised benefit show hosted by Father Conroy, and Tony must choose between Holly and national fame. [Father Conroy tries to reform Phil, an alcoholic]
Phil Stanley: I'm a little too old to still believe in Santa Claus.
Father Conroy: That's too bad, Phil. He still believes in you.

Father Conroy: Neither are you. You think you're going to find out what you lost in that bottle?
Phil Stanley: Maybe in the next one. I haven't tried all the bottles yet. But maybe I should get the Christmas spirit. Isn't this time of year when all the little girls and boys suddenly start to behave?
Father Conroy: That's not the real secret of ...

Heart Warming Story
11 March 2002 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I have always enjoyed this movie and the songs from it! I always thought of Ray Walston as Uncle Martin, but after viewing this movie many years ago, I have seen him in a new light. Singing and dancing is not one of Robert Wagner's strong points but in this movie he's not bad to look at. It's a shame that the sound track to this movie and others are not available in CD format.
