Sex & Nudity

  • Some romantic relationships between characters, very mild, almost no sexual content in this aspect.
  • Several characters are seen shirtless in a historical flashback. Non-sexual.
  • A nude woman is seen lying down, but her breasts and genitals are obscured by objects in front of the camera. Not very graphic.

Violence & Gore

  • Some fantasy violence involving the Mummy being shot with a rifle. Gooey chunks fly off upon bullet impact. Fairly mild, non-graphic.
  • Various characters are strangled to death by the Mummy. No blood, but onscreen.
  • The Mummy has a slightly decayed face and looks mildly gruesome. Fairly tame.

Profanity

  • No real strong language due to the film coming out in a period where graphic content was prohibited by the Hays Code.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Several characters drink and smoke in a pub. Mild.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The Mummy himself could be seen as frightening to younger viewers, but is overall should not be too scary to viewers who are older than 10 or so.

  • A character is walled into a vault. Non-graphic, but fairly disturbing, even though the scene is campier and cheesier than in other versions.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The flashback scene featuring a priest having his tongue cut out and him being walled into a vault could be disturbing to some viewers.
