Trivia The Grand Hotel of the Universe has a warning that it was "Out of Bounds" to British personnel. There is also a sign to say that it was "Off Limits" to U.S. Forces. As this is set in 1941, there wouldn't have been any U.S. Forces until November 1942. See more »
Goofs During the German offensive in France 1940, there is a Jeep with a civilian registration, EAY891. The Jeep wasn't invented until 1941. And a military vehicle wouldn't have had a registration number in this range, if it had one at all. See more »

Crazy Credits Opening credits prologue: During World War II, ENSA brought entertainment to our troops in every theatre of war under conditions that were usually difficult, and often dangerous. Those who brought this entertainment included international stars, great actors, top-ranking comedians, glamorous figures of the screen . . . . . . and others! But to them all - the long, and the short, and the terrible - this film is affectionately dedicated. FRANCE 1940 WAR See more »
Quotes German Captain: These are the men we have picked from the rescued prisoners, Herr Commandant. The others have been returned to their units.
German Major: Good, I will tell them what is expected of them!
German Captain: They will be honoured, sir!
German Major: At ease men. Now, as you will have guessed by the way we rescued you that we belong to an infiltration group and you have been chosen to join us because you speak English very well. And you will need to because from today for the honour of the fatherland, you will cease to be efficient, well trained soldiers. You will join the British army!
[the soldiers roll their eyes]
German Major: You will grumble continually, drink tea incessantly and worship Vera Lynn!
[they turn to each other grumbling in protest]
German Major: That is an order! Now I realise you have not had the intensive training of the other men here, so I will give you a tip. When in doubt, there are three phrases that will cover all eventualities. They are "Jolly good show!" "Where's the flipping cha?" and "Yanks, go home!" Carry on, Captain!
