"Back from the Dead", is an episode of the one season run of Bold Venture. Dane Clark headlines as Slate Shannon in this series based on the radio show of the same name. Shannon is an ex-marine who runs a small hotel and charter service in Trinidad. He also does a little p.i. work on the side which gets him into no end of trouble. Joan Marshall plays Sailor Duval, his girl and partner. In this episode Clark gets a less than welcome visit from ex-service mate, Robert Strauss. Strauss is out for some revenge because he believes Clark left him behind to be captured while they were in Korea. A couple of years in a North Korean pow camp has turned him into a less than happy person. He intends to kill Clark. A poisonous snake in Marshall's rooms, a beating laid on Clark's doorman and a shot through his car windshield help get the point across. Clark lets it be known he will be working on his boat and lays an ambush for Strauss. Sure enough, Strauss puts in an appearance and a brisk exchange of gunfire is needed before all is settled. Neat quick paced little episode. Strauss is quite good as the gunman with a few screws loose. The director was Anton Leader. Who you say? I never heard of the fellow myself. D of P was Robert Hoffman who seems to have only ever worked on late 50's TV.
