Who sang the Bat Masterson Song at the end of the program- sounds like the voice of "Tony The Tiger" on the Kellogg's cereal commercials, who I think had a name like Thor for a first name. The credits on the Masterson show don't give the information.
I'm afraid I don't know who sang the vocal, but I'm pretty sure that it was not Thurl Ravenscroft. Thurl did the voice for "Tony the Tiger" from the time of his creation, back in the early 50's, until Thurl's fairly recent death. He also sang the "Your a Mean One, Mr. Grinch," song from the 60's cartoon special. You can hear the difference. The memorable theme music, however, was written by a Mr. Havens Wray and the even more memorable lyrics (they have been stuck in my brain for more than 45 years) were written by a Mr. Bart Corwin. I hope that helps a little.
(credited to Havens Wray
- possibly a pseudonym for David Rose);
Back when the west was very young, There lived a man named Masterson.
He wore a cane and derby hat, They called him Bat - Bat Masterson.
A man of steel the stories say
But women's eyes all glanced his way
A gambler's game he always won
His name was Bat - Bat Masterson
The trail that he blazed is still there. No one has come since, to
replace his name. And those with too ready a trigger, Forgot to figger
on his lightning cane.
Now in the legend of the West, One name stands out of all the rest. The
man who had the fastest gun, His name was Bat - Bat Masterson.

A usually anonymous studio singer, but one who showed up on numerous children's records; I grew up with the voice and it's unmistakable. While still a kid I finally happened upon a record that gave him credit: SONGS OF THE POGO, tied into a novelty book derived from Walt Kelly's comic strip (Kelly is on the recording too). Happily, it has been re-released on CD, it's readily available at Amazon (there are even some streaming audio clips there) so you can all hear for yourselves. The singer's name was Mike Stewart.
... is Bill Lee, who sang in the Mellomen with Thurl Ravenscroft. Mike Stewart sang the Adventures of Champion TV theme.
The singer is indeed Bill Lee. Lee was also uncredited in the movie "South Pacific (1958)" singing for John Kerr (Lt. Cable). YouTube usually has a clip of "My Girl Back Home" from that movie, and Lee sings Cable's part there.
