British radio legend Peter Coke has died at the age of 95.

The actor, who was best known as the voice of BBC Radio 4's fictional detective Paul Temple, passed away peacefully at his home in Norfolk, England.

Coke was also an accomplished stage actor and successful playwright, and had starred in films including Carry On Admiral and Up The Creek.

But he was best known for providing the voice of Temple in the long-running drama series based on the novels of Francis Durbridge.
