XLrator Media leaps into 'Time Lapse'

The distributor has acquired North American rights to the time travel thriller starring Danielle Panabaker and plans a day-and-date release via its Macabre genre label.

Matt O’Leary and George Finn also star in Bradley King’s feature directorial debut about three friends who discover a machine that can take pictures 24 hours into the future.

Time Lapse will open theatrically and on VOD on May 15.

King co-wrote the script with Bp Cooper, who also produced alongside Rick Montgomery. Whiplash Oscar winner Tom Cross was the editor.

The film premiered at Seattle 2014 and has screened in more than 65 festivals worldwide.

XLrator Media’s Barry Gordon and Lea Flome brokered the deal with Paradigm Agency’s Ben Weiss and Meghan Oliver on behalf of the film-makers.

Sundance selection Slow West starring Michael Fassbender and Kodi Smit-McPhee will launch on Directv on April 16 and arrive in theatres and on VOD on May 15.Thunder Road and Film House Germany have optioned »

Cross Creek Teams With Cutting Edge in Slate Deal (Exclusive)

Cutting Edge Group has entered into a seven-figure slate financing deal with Cross Creek Pictures covering a dozen feature films.

The deal will provide Cross Creek with capital for its slate of upcoming film projects, secured against Cross Creek’s forthcoming film music slate.

Seven-year-old Ceg has invested in “The King’s Speech,” “Drive,” “Looper” and “End of Watch” in exchange for music publishing rights. It handles scoring, clearances and music supervision in a film, then recoups from soundtrack and sheet-music sales; licensing and royalties from international ticket sales and TV deals; and rights in TV commercials.

Cross Creek’s future slate includes “Everest,” based on the tragic 1996 Mt. Everest climbing expedition; Brian Helgeland’s “Legend,” starring Tom HardyScott Cooper’s “Black Mass,” starring Johnny Depp; and Burr Steers’ “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.” Projects in development include Mel Gibson’s World War II drama “Hacksaw Ridge” and Todd Field’s “Beautiful Ruins. »

Luke Evans Set For Otto Bathurst’s ‘Three Seconds’

Luke Evans (the Hobbit trilogy) will star in Otto Bathurst’s Three Seconds. Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk and Shine PicturesOllie Madden are producing with Kevin Frakes and Raj Singh of PalmStar Media financing. Erica Lee is exec producing.

Alex Walton’s Bloom will handle international sales at the upcoming Efm in Berlin. CAA and Wme are jointly repping domestic rights. Principal photography begins in Spring in New York. The film is based on the best-selling book by Swedish writers Anders Roslund and Borge Hellstrom. Matt Cook has penned the screenplay.

Three Seconds follows the story of a man forced undercover in prison as part of a FBI operation, who then has to escape on his own after his is abandoned during the mission.

Bathurst, who directed Peaky Blinders, and Evans are both repped by Wme.

Luke Evans will star in the Thunder Road and Shine Pictures thriller that Alex Walton is introducing to buyers in Berlin.

PalmStar Media is financing Three Seconds, which is based on Anders Roslund and Borge Hellström’s Swedish thriller about an undercover FBI agent who gets abandoned in a prison.

Otto Bathurst of Peaky Blinders fame directs. Thunder Road chief Basil Iwanyk is producing alongside Ollie Madden of Shine Pictures and Kevin Frakes and Raj Singh of PalmStar Media. Erica Lee serves as executive producer.

CAA and Wme are jointly represent Us rights.

Luke Evans (“The Hobbit”) will star in “Three Seconds,” a maximum-security prison thriller from producer Basil Iwanyk (“John Wick”), directed by Otto Bathurst, and sold by Alex Walton’s Bloom.

Bloom has already announced sales rights at Berlin on “Jadotville,” a true event Congo-set battle actioner with Jamie Dornan (“Fifty Shades of Grey”) and France’s Guillame Canet (“Last Night”). At a 2015 Berlin market with just a small number of high-profile new action/thriller movies available, “Three Seconds” and “Jadotville” are already being talked up by buyers as very attractive.

On “Three Seconds,” Iwanyk’s Thunder Road and Ollie Madden of Shine Pictures are producing with Kevin Frakes and Raj Singh of PalmStar Media providing financing. Erica Lee is executive producing.

Principal photography is set to begin this Spring in New York.

"The Hobbit" actor Luke Evans is set to join "Black Mirror" and "Peaky Blinders" director Otto Bathurst's maximum-security prison thriller feature "Three Seconds" at Bloom, Thunder Road, Shine Pictures and PalmStar Media.

An adaptation of a best-selling novel by Anders Roslund and Borge Hellstrom, Evans plays a man who is dispatched by the FBI to infiltrate the Polish mafia’s New York drug trade.

Forced undercover in maximum security prison when his cover’s sprung and he’s abandoned by the FBI, his only chance of survival is to break out of the prison or die.

Matt Cook adapted the script, Basil Iwanyk and Ollie Madden will produce. Filming begins this Spring in New York.
