When Granny is relaxing on the gondola and says, "This is so cacciatore" she obviously don't know what she's saying. "Cacciatore" is the Italian word for "hunter" (what she says may be a reference to chicken cacciatore, which means chicken prepared hunter-style, i.e. like a field-cooked meal with local herbs and vegetables). We've seen Sylvester go after Tweety many times, so this time they move the action to Venice, Italy. Granny and Tweety are on vacation there, so Venice resident Sylvester (with an exaggerated Italian accent) does his usual stuff...and of course always fails. Of course, Tweety does some nasty things to him, so he hasn't much of a chance.
As is the case with many of these cartoons, it's a good thing that I watched "A Pizza Tweety-Pie" as an adult. As a child, I wouldn't have gotten the pop culture reference (lowla bridgeada). As for Tweety's misunderstanding of the canals, it calls into question how safe it is to build cities on swamps and marshes.
Really fun. Especially due to eliciting thoughts about the referenced actress.
