In addition to the musical performers, this film had a number of cameo appearances by disc jockeys from across the US, Canada and Great Britain. This ensured the producers of some free radio plugs for the film upon its release.
Frankie Avalon is seen here as a 17-year-old, in dungarees, just months before his breakthrough hit of "Dee Dee Dinah" was released and Frankie was seen on American Bandstand (1952) as a new teen idol. This transformation was alluded to in The Idolmaker (1980), the story of rock promoter Robert P. Marcucci, who worked with Avalon and others.
