Final film of James Millican. NOTE: He had already been diagnosed with cancer when he made the film and would die before it premiered. He was 45 years old.
Despite being 45 years old and overweight, Robert Middleton showed, as he did in The Proud Ones (1956), that he could brawl with the best of them--he and Rory Calhoun had a knock-down, drag-out fight in the saloon and neither used a stuntman.
In Crossfire Trail (2001), Tom Selleck wears a holster similar to the one worn by Rory Calhoun in this film.
