Chicago Tribune, Wednesday, September 10, 1952, pt. 2, o. 7, c. 5:

by Hedda Hopper

. . . . . Got the tip that Cary Grant was going to star in the film version of the David Dodge novel, "To Catch a Thief," and checked for details. "I read the book some time ago," said Cary, "and loved it. If Alfred Hitchcock, who's to direct the picture, gets a good movie script from the story, we'll have more converstion about my doing the film" . . . Incidentally, Cary's ex-wife, Barbara Hutton, arrives here this week, after having had a wonderful rest at Doris Duke's home in Honolulu. Her son Lance, already here, very quietly went out and got himself a job recently. But he'll soon have to return to schcol in Arizona. Lance has no inclination, desire, or intention of becoming an actor.

The Cat Prowls again? It is true, or just a rumor - that John Robie, former cat burglar of Paris before the war, is once again on the prowl? Fashionable resorts on the Riviera are being regularly looted by a skillful jewel thief. Robie, once a hero of the French Resistance Army, was said to have reformed - however, the style of this new crime wave is certainly his. Even if he's innocent, he'll need all his old adroitness escaping the suspicious opinions of a doubtful police.
