Interesting biopic in a film with loose narrative.

Biopic on the life of Admiral John M. Hoskins wounded in 1944 in an explosion aboard the USS Princeton aircraft carrier, which caused him to lose one leg which did not prevent him from captaining other ships, fighting in the Korean War and becoming one of The pioneers in the development of jet aircraft landings.

Slowly played by series director John M Auer, Sterling Hayden's contribution (with mythical works in Nicholas Ray's "Johnny Guitar" (1954) or "The Killing" by Stanley Kubrick) does not contribute to improve a story that, in other directors, had reported, at least, more narrative agility and not that generalized inexpressiveness that characterizes it.

In general it is a film lacking in narrative force that had needed a story like that of Admiral John M. Hosking, a man capable of overcoming all the difficulties of the world.
