Sex & Nudity

  • A wife asks her husband if she is sexy.
  • There is one scene in which a student tries to rape a teacher, but is thwarted by a male teacher.
  • There is a sub-plot involving a pregnant woman receiving letters saying that her husband is having an affair. It's not true, and nothing explicit happens, per se, but the consequences that result from it are disturbing nonetheless.
  • It's also worth noting that the woman mentioned in the letters does try to seduce the husband, but he refuses.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is on a date with his wife and the two head to their car until suddenly a group of cars come and knock it over. No one is hurt.
  • A teacher is introducing himself to the classmates when out of nowhere a baseball hits the chalkboard, nearly hitting the teacher's head.
  • The boy mentioned in the assault scene is stopped when a teacher sees what's going on. That teacher tries to open the door, but finds that it's locked. So, he smashes the window and fights him. The fight ends when the boy crashes through a window and the teacher yanks him back. We see his face cut up and bleeding.
  • A group of boys gang up on two of the teachers and beat them brutally. The cops see them and they run away, but one teacher is beaten and covered in blood and the other is knocked unconscious. They both survive, but the scene is disturbing.
  • A gang attacks a newspaper truck and knocks the drivers unconscious.
  • A boy throws a bottle of alcohol at a teacher, but misses him on purpose.
  • A boy threatens a teacher with a knife. He cuts the teacher's hand with it, making it bleed. The boy then goes after the teacher but loses his knife. Someone else picks it up, but is hit by an american flag.

Profanity

  • The language is pretty tame by today's standards. About the worst that is said in this movie is "Hell." However, the movie contains a lot of slang dialogue that might offend some viewers.
  • It's also worth noting that there's a scene involving a man using the n-word, not as a way to offend, but to show his students how bad those words are. He is later accused of using that word offensively.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The boys smoke and drink. A lot. In one scene, we see one of those boys drunk.
  • Two teachers go to a bar. We see them getting drunk.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Most of this film is disturbing and not for the faint of heart.
