“I’m gonna kidnap a kidnapper for the money he kidnapped for.”
Ever lie in bed at night and wonder if an old movie exists where Lon Chaney takes a blowtorch to Charles Bronson’s face? Well it does and it’s the 1955 prison drama Big House U.S.A., a gritty but forgotten crime tale about a desperate group of loathsome men played by an amazing cast of manly B-movie bad guys. Chaney and Bronson act alongside Broderick Crawford, Ralph Meeker, and William Talman. They’re all villains who meet cruel but deserved ends in Big House U.S.A., one of the most mean-spirited prison escape/kidnap caper thriller ever made (and I mean that as a good thing). I saw it on TV when I was very young and its vicious violence stayed with me for decades until I was finally able to see it again thanks »

As a race, we human beings have wrought insufferable tragedy on ourselves and the world. Sometimes said tragedy is the by-product of our own stupidity. Case in point: one man whose brush with the legend of Bigfoot brought about an untimely demise.
According to NBC Montana, Randy Lee Tenley, 44, was dressed in a military style "ghillie" suit when he was struck and killed by two cars, one driven by a 15-year-old and the other by a 17-year-old. Tenley was in the midst of trying to pull off a hoax Bigfoot sighting when he was hit by one vehicle and then run over by a second whose driver didn't see him lying in the road.
"According to his companions, he was out there in the ghillie suit attempting to incite a sighting of Bigfoot, to make people think they had seen a Sasquatch," says Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Jim Schneider. "He »

She told the Miami Herald the attacker, identified as 31-year-old Rudy Eugene, was “sweet and well-mannered.” The girlfriend, who asked that her name not be disclosed, said she was shocked to hear her boyfriend was the man everyone was calling the “Miami Zombie.”
Incredibly this isn't the only bizarre incident that has occurred over the last couple of weeks...

Child actor-turned-writer Tony Blankley has died after losing his battle with stomach cancer. He was 63.
The social commentator passed away at the Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. on Saturday.
He later turned his back on acting to focus on writing and politics, most notably serving as an adviser to Republican politician Newt Gingrich during the 1990s, when he was the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Gingrich says, "Tony was a very special person. Everybody in our alumni who have heard about it have felt something in their hearts because he was more than a great professional. He was a great human being, he was a caring and loving person, he was a tremendous amount of fun, remarkably erudite and educated, and we will all miss him deeply."
