A recent DNA match has linked three long-unsolved crimes — a double-homicide, a homicide and a sexual assault — across three states dating back to 1990, People confirms.
Now, authorities tell People they are confident they will capture the suspect, who they described as a “serial killer.”

The death Thursday of Donald Harvey has thrown a spotlight on the dozens of poisoning murders to which the former hospital orderly admitted to, almost all in the manner of what he portrayed as mercy killings and earning him the label “Angel of Death.”
Harvey, 64, died two days after he was found beaten in his cell at Toledo Correctional Institution in Toledo, Ohio, People confirms. No assailant was identified.

Montana Fishburne, the daughter of actor Laurence Fishburne, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence in Florida Saturday morning, People confirms.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers took Fishburne, 25, into custody at 1:56 a.m. March 11 after she allegedly hit a vehicle that had slowed down to avoid another crash. The incident occurred on I-95 near her home in Fort Lauderdale.
A trooper allegedly discovered an open bottle of wine on the rear left floor of Fishburne’s 2016 Toyota Corolla and “the two front seats splashed with a purple liquid emanating a strong odor of alcohol,” according to the Florida Highway Patrol report obtained by People. »

A fugitive suspected in a crime spree including the killing of two people and the shooting of another was apprehended Wednesday after a manhunt spanning multiple states, People confirms.
Alex Deaton, 28, of Mississippi, was arrested in Kansas by highway patrol after a high-speed car chase that ended in a crash and an alleged confession.
Deaton allegedly fled Mississippi last week. Authorities allege he strangled to death his girlfriend Heather Robinson, 30, on Feb. 22 after learning she was going to break up with him, Neshoba County Sheriff Tommy Waddell tells People.

When Florida Highway Patrol officers responded to a minor two-car fender bender in August, they went through the normal routine of documenting the accident and checking drivers licenses.
That’s when, police say, they found a discrepancy.
One of the drivers allegedly handed them a Florida driver’s license with the name Joel Dean Hanes, with a birth date of Jan. 15, 1949. When police ran the social security number, they found that the real Joel Dean Hanes had died as an infant on Feb. 1, 1949.

The suspected shooter in Friday’s attack in the Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport used a gun he retrieved from baggage he checked on an Delta flight to the airport, a federal law enforcement official tells People.
The official identified the shooter as Esteban Santiago, 26. Santiago allegedly arrived in Ft. Lauderdale today on an inbound red-eye flight originating from Anchorage via Minneapolis, according to the official.
