See 'Super Troopers' Return in First Teaser for Sequel

Three years after Broken Lizard crowdfunded a sequel for their beloved 2001 cult comedy Super Troopers, the comedy troupe have unveiled the first look at Super Troopers 2, due out in 2018.

Despite the 17 years since the original, the troopers haven't grown out of their sophomoric humor. The teaser opens with the threat of a "balls-shaving" sequence before they're mercifully called into action by their Captain (actor Brian Cox, reprising his role from the 2001 comedy).

The trailer also riffs on Super Troopers' hilarious "Cat Game" scene, with Jim Gaffigan once again »

It's been 15 long years, but we finally have the first teaser trailer for Broken Lizard's Super Troopers 2 and it's amazing. It was recently announced that the movie will come out on April 20th, 2018 and ever since then, fans have been clamoring for some footage of the sequel and though it's short, the clip does not disappoint. There's some nods to familiar gags, but they don't seem like a rehash at all, which is smart and a good sign for the rest of the movie.

The R-rated red-band trailer comes to us courtesy of the official Broken Lizard YouTube channel and features the whole gang. "Thorny" Ramathorn (Jay Chandrasekhar), "Rabbit" Roto (Erik Stolhanske) "Rod" Farva (Kevin Heffernan) and Mac (Steve Lemme) are all here, starting with a rookie shave sequence for Rabbit, who apparently is still the rookie after all these years. ‘CHiPs’ Star Larry Wilcox: New Movie Looks Like ‘Soft-Porn Version of ‘Dumb and Dumber”

Larry Wilcox, one-half of the original “CHiPs” duo, isn’t too ecstatic for the iconic TV show’s big-screen reboot.

Although he hasn’t seen the movie yet, Wilcox, who starred with Erik Estrada on the NBC show from 1977 to 1983, isn’t sold on the new raunchy premise.

“I have not seen the film but the trailers looked like a soft-porn version of ‘Dumb and Dumber,'” Wilcox told the Associated Press. “However, I hear the actors are both very talented and funny, so maybe it all works.” He said he’ll likely “wait for the video” instead of watching the pic in theaters.
