I was sorting out some new additions to my Super8 collection recently when I came across this gem. It shows fantastic archival footage from the start of last century featuring planes and (dare I call them) helicopters that didn't quite get off the ground. >From planes with 20 or so wings, to helicopters that look like cars with beach umbrellas attached, this documentary has some of the funniest aviation footage you will every see. Not to mention the narration. At the start of the film it also shows some fascinating footage of modern planes (modern for 1954 anyway). Overall it is a great piece of historical footage, and a funny look back at where it all began. 9/10.
