A film worth watching over and over and over and over and over
Taking place in Småland, Sweden, the father of two retarded kids struggle to survive in 19th century. As the protagonist, a twisted priest, makes mockery of the members in the parish, evil things start to happen. In one very strong scene we watch a farmer killing himself with a dull butter knife. For being a film produced in the mid 20th century it's very provocative and has made a landmark in Swedish film history. The film contains disturbing language and scenes of nudity and child molestation. Apart from the fact that this film was banned due to it's explicit nature doesn't drag it's rating down. A straight 10 out of 10. Enjoy watching.
