It makes the blockbuster movie world go ’round, and it’s why studios spend hundreds of millions of dollars making them, because they’ll make that money back (and more) on toys, pillows, shampoo, and whatever else they stamp with the brand from a factory in China. And while I’m not sure that anybody still buys trading cards, Topps is hoping to move some units with their deck from “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”

While the verdict is still out on whether or not those reshoots were par for the course and an attempt to make Gareth Edwards‘ movie the best it can be, or Lucasfilm and Disney hitting the panic button, it speaks to the long standing power of the brand, that we’re still pretty damn excited for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” The first spinoff from the main saga is gearing up to tell a tale of heroism, while bringing back a classic villain.
