Intense scenes of violence in the Martian invasion scenes. People are incinerated by the Martian death rays, sometimes the ash left over from people lay on the ground. The burning wreckage of a bus can be seen in Los Angeles. Includes themes of panic and the possible end of mankind.

Brief tobacco use by an adult in the scene at the meteor crater.

The film is very frightening for children under the age of ten, especially the scenes of people being vaporized by the Martian death rays. The Martian sneaking into the farmhouse is also very frightening.
