The film revolves around a samurai trying to marry a married woman that he rescues. She repeatedly denies his affections and becomes afraid of him.

There are a few battle scenes, but nothing too gory.

Several soldiers are shot down with arrows - no blood.

One slightly bloody sword fight.

A man's severed head is shown on display from the top of a gate - too far away to be explicitly graphic or bloody.

A man becomes increasingly violent as the married woman he wants to marry rejects him repeatedly. In one scene he pins her against the wall, threatening to kill her family if she doesn't marry him.

A man accidentally kills the woman he wants to marry, and both him and her husband mourn her death.

One use of "damn".

The last half-hour of the film is emotionally intense.

Suggested Rating: PG-13 for Thematic Elements and War Violence.
