A film that still thrills
22 March 2010 | by (Spain) – See all my reviews

The "Monte Albertia" is a ship that has left Spain carrying more than 100 girls of the "Coros y Danzas" of the "Sección Femenina". Its intention is to show the wealth of Spanish folklore. The show aims to America to make a tour of all its countries, and serve for enjoyment of the Spanish emigrants to the other side of the Atlantic....

Ladislao Vajda offers us this film that, while in 1952 its main attraction was to display a full range of Spanish folklore, accompanied with a cinema script. Now when we see "Ronda Española", it has earned interest in its perspective on the time, for being interpreted in its songs and dances by dancers genuine of the "Coros y Danzas" of the former "Sección Femenina", by work some magnificent first actors as Jose Isbert, Manolo Morán, Jose Suarez, Julita Martinez, Elvira Quintilla… by having a magnificent photography of the master Jose F. Aguayo, and for having led a great director Ladislao Vajda.
