Plot centers around how a young recruit (Audie Murphy) faces the horrors of war. Character vascilates between wanting to fight and doubting his own courage. Not to give the story away, but near the end of the movie Audie Murphy is holding two flags; that is the scene, but all else that led up to it and what is going on at the time will make you cry. It can't be beat. And neither can this movie.
