A CBS radio staple since 1943, the TV version was unique in that the show was broadcast live to separate parts of the country on consecutive nights, requiring the actors to perform the same script twice. This situation lasted from the series' debut on 12 July 1951 through September 1951. CBS managed to consolidate its nationwide telecasts the following season. The series ended its network TV run on 29 March 1952 but would extend its life by going into syndication during the 1954-55 season with a new cast (with the exception of Robert Ellis.See more »
