"Studio Stoops" is an entertaining entry that sees the boys as janitors at a major film studio. Through a misunderstanding, they are thought to be publicity agents for the studio and are to come up with a boffo publicity stunt for screen ingenue Christine McIntyre. The Stooges plan to come up with a stunt where Christine is kidnapped, but real criminals (headed by the always excellent Kenneth MacDonald) kidnap her for real! Will The Stooges save her in time?
"Studio Stoops" offers classic Stooge slapstick and an interesting story for a fine balance. The only drawback is the obvious double for Shemp in the long shots of him hanging off a phone extension line over the street.
After seeing "Studio Stoops," I wonder who the boys' tailor was. In many Shemp shorts, including this one, their cuffs are noticeably too long! Surely Columbia could have afforded to alter their suit jackets!
A romp throughout. 7 out of 10.
